In the first webinar the focus was an overview of the many issues that occur at the point in time when a youth reaches the legal age of consent and enters a period known as “Transition Age Youth” – frequently referred to as a “black hole” in terms of services. A variety of tools were shared with participants to help ease the transition. Part 2 will involve walking participants through how to use each those resources with the youth in their care. Additionally, new resources will be shared with participants that have been developed by NAMI’s Youth and Young Adults team to help provide additional support and information for families.
