Once you're on campus, a new set of challenges and opportunities begins. In this session, our panel will share the real, unfiltered experience of navigating college life with a disability. We'll discuss everything from working with disability services, managing academics, and accessing accommodations, to handling the social dynamics of campus life. Hear firsthand strategies for balancing schoolwork, self-care, and extracurriculars, and learn about resources to support your journey. This session offers advice on thriving both inside and outside the classroom.
Training Objectives:
- Equip students with strategies for building relationships with disability services and accessing accommodations to support academic success.
- Provide tools for balancing coursework, self-care, and extracurricular activities, fostering personal and academic well-being.
- Explore ways to manage social interactions, build supportive relationships, and participate fully in campus life while embracing individual needs.
- Introduce key on-campus and community resources, including mental health services, student organizations, and peer support networks, to ensure a well-rounded college experience
